Lazy Tongue

Lazy Tongue

A Poem by Pól

Eloquent?
Sophisticated?
Beautiful?
Yes, and no.
Words fall from a lazy  tongue
Adjectives abjectly inadequate
 hard lashes flutter
a brief glimpse of the soul
settling down to supper
devouring the night
the lap-dogs wait
under the table
a falling crumb
a tasty morsel
of the brilliance
that illuminates her path.

I enjoyed the coolness and the simplicity of your words. I guess I don't recommending eating with a lazy tongue, I don't think it's very attractive.

A beautiful yet sarcastic poem.

Is about a man giving compliments to a woman in hopes she would react to give him affection in return and how she is aware of it and uses it to control him.

Maybe, maybe not.
It seems she's adored, yet words are not enough to convey the stream of thoughts...
Therefore, the crumb is a morsel that may not suffice...duality illuminates her path...

i can read this two ways, one quite literal, how a man sees the woman he's in love with and another quite sarcastic and making a commentary about how easily people fawn over each other today especially on social media. Both work, nice one!
