Falling apart

Falling apart

A Poem by Pól

I am large
grey
drab
delapidated,
a facade,
mocking better days
casting a heavy shady
over chic terracota condos
that have gaily sprung up
all around me.

They stare

they squeeze
I struggle to breath
I yearn for light.

Embarassed
they avert their eyes

ignore me
as the paint peels
and rust sets.
