Butterfly

Butterfly

A Poem by Pól

You floated

on the edge

of reason and light

a butterfly, flitting

through holes in time

stretching the veil

that wrapped hopes and dreams

mortal, wrestling ambition

settling for what is right

and comfortably mundane.

The star that shone

extinguished

by the vicissitudes of fate

that fortune dealt.
