the frozen sod

the frozen sod

A Poem by Pól
"

I walked across my frozen lawn tonight (its brass monkeys here) and though of this. Needs a bit of work, though

"

Walk across
the icy lawn

crispy crackly au pied
it sounds so good
to trod
that sod
misty footprints
mark each step
crunch, crunch, crunch
so easy on the ear
the ground
so firm, yet soft
to the foot.

That which is such a simple thing, could bring such pleasure.

I'm so glad I flew over and landed upon your words, it's a pleasure reading you....

thank you, Frieda. as the saying goes, the best things in life are free
"As great minds have the faculty of saying a great deal in a few words, so lesser minds have a talent of talking much, and saying nothing."

Quote
Francois de La Rochefoucauld

wow.. frozen lawn? it's hot summer monsoons here. the imagery is so peaceful.. I like that concentration of crunch crunch crunch in sound.. and the separation of ground and ice crackling on feet... intricate like reading with ears.. lol @ brass monkeys :)
