An cloidheamh solais

An cloidheamh solais

A Poem by Pól
"

The title means "the sword of Light" This is a rough first draft + I will add to + amend in due course.

"

What is the secret?

o ye of knowledge,

begged the hero

of his damsel

by which i may vanquish

the Beast.

The damsel frowned

fearful her betrothed

might fail the task

set by those

less brave than he.

You must smite the beast

two score but one

where he is weak

with a sword of light

and rip his black soul

from its lofty feathered nest.

But if ,this quest, you fail

my love

he will eat your heart

and drink your blood

and I,

a bride

eternally

will remain.

Now this is more like you Paulo. Good concept (even if nicked from a kids fairytale!) well written and great pace and flow!

Its hard to have an original though- if something is good, someone is bound to have thought of it
