The flame

This is my attempt to say sorry.

Let's start again

stop raking the past

but from the embers, dying

find that single spark

to kindle the flame

and crackle, sparkle

back to life.

 

Let's take a chance

and go

where others

fear to thread

lets take that first step.

 

Ignore those who say,

that hill's too steep

but never climb

Let's leave them behind

and ascend

'til we touch

the sky.

I love the hopefulness in this! It makes me think of starting a wounded relationship over and making it work. "I'm sorry", when spoken sincerely and meaningfully, can go a very long way.
