The news

The news

A Poem by Pól

Early today I received the news From a be-spectacled man white coat, black shoes You have been busy Or so it would seem Spreading as wildfire An arsonist's dream I accepted your challenge And fought a good fight But now you have spread The end is in sight. So home i did trudge Heavy of heart Preparing myself This coil to depart.

So sad.

Facts are never understood or felt till they present themselves first hand, and at that moment they become profound. Excellent poem.

Thank you, Cherrie
Great rhyme and flow, remarkable theme woven in intricate lines. The theme is a sad and painful circumstance excellently stated in the last lines, that made me ponder and reflect hard on the brevity of life.

Wow. Black or what. I seem to have so many people around me right now who are teminally diagnosed (not ill yet). Well portrayed the coldness of getting the word from a faceless clinician.
