Thoughts
A Story by
Pól
Each morning I awake,
to ponder,
Reflections,… in a broken mirror.
Opportunities lost, riches squandered.
Thoughts of silver,
when I cherished gold.
Thoughts of time,
that rendered me old.
Thoughts of a pleasure,
Turning to pain.
Thoughts of our passage,
through lover’s lane
Thoughts of heaven,
drifting to hell.
Thoughts of a place,
I once knew well.
Thoughts of a joy,
becoming so sad.
Thoughts of the dreams,
and the love we had.

Oh those blooming lost opportunities. I think we all have regrets about those.

Quite and gentle reflections looking back with wiser eyes. This was a beautiful read.

Glad to hear it you reasure my poetic confidences!
The opening lines in this -
"Each morning I awake,
to ponder,
Reflections,… in a broken mirror"
Are a very powerful opening to your thoughts and lead into your piece. What a sad piece it is. It weaves through a journey, broken hearts, times lost, passion and falling to hell. You have written this well and the roller coaster of emotions it takes me through allows me to feel you emotions as you put them out there.
Outstanding piece of emotions!

Sharing makes it worthwhile.
Reminiscing with that depressive anchor, it's beautiful the way you've highlighted dualities. It was a clean and crisp read off the tongue with a deep and much more complex theme, the last duality. That contrast really brought something extra to the piece I thought. Thank you for sharing this piece!
