Donard

A Poem by Pól
"

My feable attempt to reflect the beauty of a magical place, for my daughter, Megan, whom i love so much.

"

Rocky ragged mountain path

carved from granite ridge

jutting like dragonteeth

twisting and turning

worming, nay ... snaking

from your ankles to your temple

a stairway to a seventh paradise

a highway to heaven.

Climbing, climbing

further and higher

'til cloud welcomed us in

to its solemn embrace

for a cup of tae

whilst hiding your finest china

from eager eyes,yearning

for the veil to lift.

A place of a thousand waterfalls

caressing your shoulders

cooling your brow

whilst soothing my pain

and cleansing my soul

as i swam in your fountain

of ice-cold bliss.

tbh my words don't really do the place justice- but one can only do their best!!

awww
"a stairway to a seventh paradise
a highway to heaven"
These lines to me describe a place of beauty/hence the reference to heaven.
Although I am a bit confused because at the end you talk about pain, has your daughter passed? The climbing higher and higher to a solemn embrace, and a place of a thousand waterfalls, does sound magical, so beautiful, only one can imagine what place holds such beauty?
Again cleansing your your soul - powerful wording flowing into swimming in her fountain of ice cold bliss.
This is a beautiful write, and tender, filled with love. The only pain that reflects is in the last 3 lines, in which case I ask if you lost her. If I am off - please forgive me. If not I am so sorry.
I must say the images in this piece are vivid and I can picture them clearly. Very well written. Thank you for sharing.
