I can't do that

I can't do that

A Poem by Pól

I'd like to sing a song to you
with words that will be true
and tell you that I love you so
But I just can't do that
I can't do that

I'd like to pen a verse or two
that make my feelings clear to you
and tell you what you mean to me
But I just can't do that
I can't do that

I'd like to draw your tiny face
showing all its tender grace
and frame the beauty of your soul
But I just can't do that
I can't do that

I'd like to build a world for two
settle in, just  me and you
and together we'll be free
But I just can't do that
I can't do that

I'd like to spend the rest of time
just with you and no-one else
Listening to your beating heart
But I just can't do that
I can't do that

I'd like to say that you are mine
Loving til the sands of time
spread their grains so fine
and maybe with my final breath
I'll find a way.

Just maybe, I can do that.

Your ending...I love how it ended on a positive note:

I'd like to say that you are mine
Loving til the sands of time
spread their grains so fine
and maybe with my final breath
I'll find a way.

Just maybe, I can do that.

I love it!
