My Soul Yearns For Yesteryear

My Soul Yearns For Yesteryear

My soul yearns for yesteryear,

To leave this place, this life,

My spirit hears the call of my ancestors,

Mountains calling me home to reside,

A time when the longships would sail,

Upon the high seas and rivers long,

Warriors relished in the struggle,

And even the new world heard our song,

Forests whisper our names across time,

Echoes of past glories hang in the wind,

Stories told by the fires along the shore,

Song carried by flames to heavens sent,

As the wolf hunts under the stars,

And the moon looms over mountains tall,

I’ll strive to walk my ancestor’s path,

Until such time when Valhalla calls.
