There are never so many places to hide, As the places you have inside your own mind.A Poem by SophiaKathleenRelatively simple in writing, but I think the premise is fairly complex. There are never so many places to hide, As the places you have inside your own mind. I’ve fallen down the rabbit hole, It’s a long way down, I’ve fallen down the rabbit hole, But never reached the ground. I can’t find my white rabbit Though I’ve gone down his hole I’ve met all his friends, Caterpillar, queen, and old souls I know not where to find him Though I continue to look His world is filled with mysteries And the looking glass someone took I have searched high and low And had his watch in my hand And though my name is not Alice Before the red queen I still stand The judgment is always final The scythe now is poised Without the help of the white queen And a mad hatter with a choice There is no hope for my head In this under-world I have found Given the choice of death or death I must look toward the ground Praying will not help here Even if there is a god above In this world of complete wonder I go without omniscient love The query has just been answered And in it lies my fear I come face to face with my lancer And lose all hope I had here But a strange thing then happens And the face is exposed My expression is under that mask A development I had never known And in that occurrence Lies the most ordinary thing It is not anyone else you must fear It is your own twisted minding. © 2020 SophiaKathleen |
