A Poem by shane

Through the window

If I stay here I won't be coming home,

But will you, call of the search,

I’ll find myself alone,

Digging through this mess,

To feel the sun across my face,

I’m getting out of here

But I’m not coming home.

All on black is playing in the background

As the light comes fading down

I’m looking out of the window

To the town that I grew up in,

If I stay here any longer

I will, I will die here

One last quick fix and I’ll sleep sound

One last word before I drown

I’m sure I’m getting worse at making it better

Eye’s open and looking round

Searching for what can't be found

But it's the middle of the night and I’m barely awake

So whisper words, sugar coated but fake

To put me back down, put me down.

All on black is playing in the back round

As the light comes fading down

I’m looking out of the window

To the faces I once knew,

Time has taken so much away

But it's given so much back

Was I really that blind to think it was the town choking me

Was I wrong to think I was the only one safe from this?

My hands around my own neck squeeze tighter and tighter

Am I the only one killing me?

All on black is playing in the back round

As the light comes fading down

I’m looking out of the window

To the sunset, the sunset

I'm looking out of the window,

To real life, I see.
