I Am a Spider In a Bottle

I Am a Spider In a Bottle

A Poem by IO

I am a spider in a bottle

I do not see my limitations because they are invisible to the naked eye

So I strive forward oblivious

I hit my head on my limitaions and search for a way around

There is none

I try to climb this invisible wall but my hands and feet do not grip

I begin to contemplate my escape from this invisible prison

God did not remember to put holes in the lid of my life

I become light headed with a false sense of happiness

I forget to panic in my daze of asphyxiation

I never had a chance to call my prison home

I really like this poem. The tone and diction just go very well and the metaphor is easily imagined.
But, I do have a problem with this line, "I try to climb this invisible wall but my hands and feet do not grip" simply because a spider would be able to scale the glass wall. Just knowing that takes away from the experience of the poem.
