Innocence of Bliss

Innocence of Bliss

A Poem by Michael G. Smith
"

Memories of past love

"
One thousand nine hundred eighty-six
Beneath a naked ocean moon so wet
Figures writhing upon a surf's hot-white breath
Shimmering in the light melting silhouettes

Tis night within and forevermore
Hearts merge amid flowtide depths
Drowning in seas of love wine dusk
Aimlessly, as clouds of time so ebbs

Swallow and surrender, come
Waves drunk crashing din
Crying out to this hallow mist
Echoing an innocence's soultouch bliss

In the end succumbs I, she and nightress
To vanilla skies cold cold lips
Memories flotsam and jetsam become
Washing up, somewhere on a shoreline's reminisce
