The Gravitational Pull

The Gravitational Pull

A Poem by Michael G. Smith
"

This is about the effects of suicide.

"

The Blood Letting

As Heaven’s tears

Senseless pawns

All Crying silent fears

For you, it went right

For me oh, so wrong

You’re painless, numbness…

Not the same, I’m here still hanging on

Memories reenacting

A mother’s suicide act

Keeps haunting, places

A monkey upon my back

Stealing sunlight, love so easily

Takes heart of soul

Binds horizons highways

Forever stuck within gravity’s pull
