Into Outer Space

Into Outer Space

A Poem by Michael G. Smith
"

You Decide

"

My brain pleading through impulse

Squeezing cold the steel trigger

And my rope frays; unravels

Coaxing slow, relays more my finger

The pain so long it lingers; precarious to this soon situation

Lessening by each little pull inching pressure

While my whole body, embraces for break

It’s the indecisions swirling that makes, sure my nexus of intention

And this mind of mine still in contemplation

Every universal question orbits one answer; escape

A center’s left with merely a void of silence

As I am drifting off into outer space

My lifeline has lost its relevance

Days are more and more a bitter taste

And love has become an antonym

Of metaphors and meanings all effaced

Into the unknown I have chosen

To mingle with companionship of other lost souls

I assume and interpret to an acceptable degree

Yet, on this side I will never know… “BANG”
