Much More Fools

Much More Fools

A Poem by Michael G. Smith
"

writers are a maddening bunch

"

I tried to tell a story

Yet, fell flat upon my face

Not because I had no words

Just because I had no grace

Letters they fell together

But phrases there were none

I shoved them closer than ever

Although, the more I did they sounded dumb

What’s a writer without a notion

An idea or some kind of thought

A damn ship without an ocean

Or a kum without the quat

I guess I could go on and on

But what’s the reason for

It’s just a bunch of gibberish

That this reader will ignore

In conclusion of my so called poetry

Or any chance of prose

I will add a bit of morality

If I knew how the hell it goes

Let’s see, don’t do drugs, a hint of sex

And make sure to stay in school

Then when you feel the need to write

You’ll either join the genius or accompany us fools

Very interesting poem. I liked the last part of the poem too. School is important even if you're bad at it, like me.

Gee
It's all there, the content is fine but for me the cadence was to far off when read aloud.
Good morning.
