Confessions in StarfallA Poem by Michael G. SmithSitting upon the sidelines of eventide Meddlesome by conscience Thoughts of solace undermine Before I spy the wounded star befallen
A grain of sand, a grandeur plan Lands within the nexus hour Slips right through His cosmic hand A soul off 'tis ivory tower
A hero, a warrior perhaps incognito Done battles within a northern sky Meets the fates and saints alike A blaze of glory then all is nigh Those moments unbeknownst and forthwith When you stop for no reason but to cry Touches human heart and soul When starlight sudden dies
Out there confessions betwixt an open air Pleas upon echoes of forgiveness 'Neath cold bate breath I hear them Then silence once again blankets eveniness And thoughts within they quicken Manifest past sins hoping to expunge In mind's eye the star falls once again And then again it falls to dust
