Grand Larceny

Grand Larceny

A Poem by Michael G. Smith
"

She stole a kiss

"
Before I could look
She stole a kiss
In exchange for visions and urges
I for love surely miss took
A time when a boy may be tricked
And my kiss, my kiss
Kept passing onto another's lips
As I watched one more pawn taken
In a game she seemingly played
Called "heartbreaking"

I love the title. It sounds like she stole more than just a kiss... Nicely written, Michael!

Yes, that innocent age where were discovering.
In the moment, those stolen kisses are just the best. It's later, when reality sets in that we pay the price.
