Go Green?

The "Go Green" campaign is a big joke.

"Go Green!" I hear the people say

As if they're cheering on a football team

Perhaps to amend...

For all the guilt of their own past sins

What would make me feel better?

If they truly understood the facts, "like the sun is dying faster"

And the moon overhead?

It's already dead

Yet, no one is crying we must save them

They just use and abuse them

Not to see through their own darkness

But, to accentuate love

True or not regarless

It is sad but true how so many misguided people use a cause for the own advantage. Save the planet we must but I just hope it is not too late! Thank you so much for sharing your prose and views.

One of the largest oil and petroleum producers in the world has now decided to charge for plastic carrier bags at their many thousands of outlets here in the UK and in Europe, (this under the guise of going green, rather than admitting it will make them a tidy pile of cash.) Ironic really, given it is they who rape this lovely planet of the stuff that those self same carrier bags are made of.

One day, the bottom line, will become just that if we continue as we are.

Thanks for your rant. I a good respectful person who abhors people or groups who bully or try to make me feel guilty into doing there stated righteous indignations of mantra about saving "The Earth". They only doing to make money or because they feel guilty themselves. If you want to save the planet do it by teaching your children in paying it forward but get off the rooftops because this just drives good people away from the cause. This is my rant which is not directed at you personally just making aware my views of the blown out of apportion subject, lol.

Hell yeah! I hate people who cheer these things in which they could care less about. I have met so many activists, gardeners and people who are actually putting this "Go Green" thing to action. I appreciate how you describe the way in which society works. That people "just use and abuse them not to se though their own darkness." Thank you for pointing out this overused term and bringing awareness to all of our homes: the earth. Without the earth we are nothing, and without the truth we are also nothing. This poem tells the truth in a direct way that you should be super proud of.

I completely agree, it always bugs me when people do that. I really liked the second line, it was a great way to describe how dumb it is and how obnoxious their being about it.
