Love Don't Come Easy

Love Don't Come Easy

A Poem by Michael G. Smith
"

Married Life

"

Love don’t come easy

Believe me

I know and…

I’ve earned every drop

In a green glass bottle

Is where I save it up

Just in case or for a…

Very rainy day

Times are the…

Winds of change

Once in a while

Things can get pretty rough

That’s when I lay it on

Thick as oil

My savored sweet cologne of love

She can’t resist me

Does everything that I want

Love don’t come easy

So sometimes I musk

Thinking outside the box

Although, quite a woman

More clever did I wed

She never forgets

A promise or word I’ve said

Pushes back my bedroom thoughts

Back-in-the-box

Foot-in-the-mouth with tail between my legs

Out of the house into the dog’s

I think it's pretty safe to say that we couldn't really live without each other...I think!

This is so true, marriage ain easy and women never forget any promise even if you promise while in a bad state of mind, we still dont forget, we also do not forget the hurts and pain you have caused..

Women have memories like steel traps and we men always get caught in them, lol.

You speak the truth here, Mike. Your first stanza reminds me of something I say to my students whenever they call me "Miss..." I tell them that I am Mrs... and I earn that title. Love was never meant to be easy, but it is so worth the work.

Haha, I tell my wife to tell her students the same thing.
We're at the mercy of our moods. Always do something else when you feel low.

Bonds are made to be broken,
Gold becomes a brass token,
so wait till that gold returns
when your passion burns and burns.

Nice verse, thanks for the read.
It might be a favorite wine or a secret lover or both but I'm glad that it provides solace to your distraught heart.
Loved the analogy and how everything sums up together in this beautiful poem of love and longing.

Thanks Avinash.
Lol, yeah, married life is a b***h sometimes.
Other times a beach. Take the good with the bad.
Laying it on thick is never a good idea though, doesn't appear genuine.
