Twisted Tales Of Love

Twisted Tales Of Love

A Poem by Michael G. Smith
"

...

"

Tales of love are twisted

Here we stand united; you and I

It was more of what I had insisted

And you read between the lines

In your heart wrote the words I had listed

Clichés of love is still blind

Without convincing you wouldn’t have wished this

But now you’ve seen all of the signs

What can I do my dearest

But, love you deep and hard till the end of time

At least to the sand that falls last

And the summer’s wind unwinds

Tales of love are twisted and ours is no different

Unless of course, all those years ago you would have declined

To write words "in your heart" is a lovely line. The acceptance of someone without trying to change them or turn them into something else is the real deal. The sincerity comes through loud and clear here. Nicely done. Penny :)

you're very welcome, Sir Micheal :)
Women are like nature...at times they are kind. Sometimes they change and leave our territory. Probably that's why god created them for us to know the life and understand it in much deeper way. We can only love them as much as we can and as long as we can, returning it is their prerogative.
