A Far Off Land...

A Far Off Land...

A Poem by Michael G. Smith

I cause anguish unto myself

Choosing to live among the dead

Stumbling petrified through the forest mind

And turn on the fog machine; self-made serpentine darkness

Tripping over exposed roots of half truths

Believing the only sweetness is in cotton candy psychosis

I just might be able to raise the dead

Bring back the loved one in animation

If I choose to stay here in this...

Far off land called “A little while longer grief and desperation”

Enjoyed this, especially the almost ironical tensions in the last couplet, bitter-sweet..

Thanks, I observe how we put ourselves through unnecessary grief when a c love one passes.
