Lisa Mona LisaA Poem by Michael G. SmithCelebrating the famous portrait
Lisa Mona Lisa my darling
Your gaze through panes of past Majesty behind walls of a future land Queen without crown by circumstance Forever bringing thee to life in mind and heart within And any thoughts beyond that's left Become the years, the hours, minutes wept Of ye, the one I've never glimpsed, been near nor ever met Two souls eons old energies extract unseen From this existing temperal plane's acknowledgment Where thou art an angel of my dreams From on high hath heaven sent A plea to open air a mere inquiry unto thee Of dark suit suitors beware With a single eye and upon one weak knee For nothing less than to capture thee than love share A prize to hang; a trophy to the lair Upon walls accompanied by despair But thy smile, thy smile my dear is light Of myriad subtle mystery of a maiden fair Tis the key, thy legacy and heir Apart to thee further and to be free And if fate halts thy forlorn destiny Then my own open tears shall be thy revelry
