Succubus Leave Be...A Poem by Michael G. SmithPlagued by unwanted sexual dreams
(She comes into the night
Long talons as a Phoenix
Burning everything in sight Landing upon my subconscious) Succubus this place leave be... This manbeing to dream freer free from thy fire Not throb within thee deeper deep Or be any lyric in thy song called lustful pyre sleep Thou art not love and thy shall never be But, dark beauty's poetic guise speak On tongues French read silent through the nightless Upon shades etched poisoning the darkness Thus fear anguish is to close these earthly eyes Knowing that thou wilst take me to insanity unhuman heights An innocence to a demon aching for living out other's lives A sacrificial lamb to the wraith Siren's sighs Please, end this torrid affair one-sided Barren visions are swift becoming fantasies longing Take away thy nexus in madness widened Return the light, the eves, the calming Allow refuse from thy biding To angelic lights, the truer love Thou art not Cupid and I not Psyche So give me up to the morning above Thy chains do seem to fade, finally from mine sight But, for a moment at the cusp of feathered wing And once again I become afraid, succumb When return the Succubus comes... Into a serpetine glory Griffin's flight Steamy breathes dragon further She steals away; hearts collect Coffers fill more with kiss of death Please O please Why, thus why Wilst thou not leave This man's aether life to be... © 2014 Michael G.
