Hoping for the FireflyA Poem by Michael G. SmithWhy did you do it?Cries in the
darkness Clearly the cat claws
its way out of a bag As a query bore wings like faeries Thus in question futility
flutters
A firefly destined just
without reach Flies away into the
night Mingling with
crowds of celestial bodies The relevance further
and evermore fleeting
I turn to you once again... In silence,
shrugging shoulders Thinking, what was
it all for I never look back
And you never look
down Hoping for the
firefly That slipped out of
the jar And through your
hands © 2013 Michael G. SmithReviews
