Thou Art the Rain

Thou Art the Rain

A Poem by Michael G. Smith
"

Memories in rain.

"

Inspired by MsJewel's poem  ~Rain~

The rain is my constant

In monsoon is an attraction

Each drop a word of spell

Lightly whispered arouses air

Every pour simplicity

Writes the verse in poetry

Of expectancy in unaware

Each dripping

A touch of caressing hands

The wetness upon my body

Cool as autumn lips

Every splash a testimony

Of history

Recorded though this kiss

The showers

Virility in love

Bathing my heart

In whirlpool balms

Flowing as floods

Felicity art

Is never completely enough

Thy rain my constant

Memories I have

Left of thee

Springtime my scent tense

Evermore thy allegory clear

And when I dance

To its ambiance I am whole I am bare

For thou art within

Liquid spirit

Forever dancing

In the shadows

Right here

Thanks Blue.
I am honored my poem gave you the inspiration for these lovely words. Some think the rain is sad and gloomy - I see rain as soft, sensual and a perhaps a bit bittersweet. You have captured those feelings.
and when I dance
to its ambiance I am whole I am bare... my favorite lines in a stunning poem.

You are welcome...:)
Oh I love this one Mike, it has just the right amount of heat to make it sultry and the perfect adornment to Julie's rain poem. It's really gorgeous, one tiny thing, I'd change 'drip' in the second stanza to 'drop', just sounds better to me imho.

Yes, I see your point drip is a drip and dripping gives more of a feeling of well...you know.

I believe we can squeeze a million more poems out of the rain. there may be one for every raindrop.
it feels more lively than it sounds anyway...
you covered everything with such glow...i liked it.
