What is Pure Love

What is Pure Love

A Poem by Michael G. Smith
"

Life's question.

If I sow an infant seed
To bring a flower forth
From what seems
A very dirty Earth

And drop some buckets of rain
Upon it every other day
Will it bloom or simply be
If then I up and walk away

What if I hung around
Perhaps a song to sing
Hum or talk awhile longer
Or listened with a simpler smile offer

Would it want to know
Who it was that gave it love

Mike, the analogy used here is exemplary. It gave me a pretty good picture of "love".
Very beautiful and wonderfully written. :)

This an old poem that portrays my belief that without nourishment love will wither and die.
Love and gratitude are not always a couple, but this poem and love are. Great write.

Pure love is shown without reward, but somehow, some time the recipients will remember it.
I really like this one, Mike - complete and unconditional love, the kind that gives with no thought of return... truly beautiful.

Yes pure love is unconditional.
True love is in no way the barest of essentials, look at a baby's face when a mother is singing a lullaby to them, that's true love....like this one Mike.

We always remember those that show us love even if at the time we didn't want to receive it.
I've been told that plants enjoy music and song. However, I cannot carry a tune so... hmm - wait, all my houseplants die. I must stop muttering tunes under my breath as I move about! lol...
enjoyed the read -
