Baptism by Fire

Baptism by Fire

A Poem by Michael G. Smith
"

Walking blindly into Love

"

Without ash shall thee
For a moment glorified
And forever be

Fair Lady, forsake what hath passed
Partake of purification
Walk with me upon love's life path
Into baptism by fire

Manifestation in its touch
Beyond these tabernacles
Of, desire or lust
To the heart of spirits conversing

Where no spoken word is needing
But yet if
It shall be a gift; floating
Like breaths of the songbird singing

Or swallowed butterflies wild
Upon trails dancing
Lit by starlight smiles

And Spring will nevermore
Be, just one day
Or a mere season
But in a sense
Shall be all encompassed in union feeling

To the bells

Let them ring
The chimes in wedding

And when

These wills are aligned
It is triumph over time

Then the temporal

Exhales echoes

From out of the shadows

Beneath bed of roses

Interesting. I feel your title is totally different than the poem itself. You express such a depth of feeling and commitment within the poem - there isn't any blindness in this writing, but an acknowledgement of what is necessary to keep a relationship strong.

"And when
These wills are aligned
It is triumph over time"

Nicely penned!!
