Reign of Acorns

Reign of Acorns

A Poem by Michael G. Smith
"

Autumn around my house!

"

The reign of acorns
Falling from the skies
From the skies
Dominating, dominating
Ruining my life

But, not hers
As she dances upon them
Crushing, crushing
Smiling, smiling
A youthful girl still in her mind

Thus, the reign of acorns
Ending, ending
Beneath her rule
And under winter's thumb
Of autumn's welcome demise

Residing with in the poem is a message of a free spirit intimidating a not quiet free spirit, this is what I see, ( perhaps ) thus the art of poetry is subjective, what is the inner poet trying to alert the verbal poet about his or her emotions, this is true poetry as it holds information in residence... most interesting

Some interesting imagery in this write. The acorn is usually seen as a symbol of good omen, or strength. Interesting that in your poem the girl is dancing on them and crushing them. It reads like some kind of allegory to me. ~ Robert.

Ah, I see! The imagery was well presented, leaving room for interpretation, which is good.
