Illustrated Man

Illustrated Man

A Poem by Michael G. Smith
"

Seeing the world crumble through some of our youth.

"

Illustrated man...

                   I can't

                        Read you

Your piercings...

               Keep tales

                    Tight lipped

In silence...

               I am judging

                     By jacket book covers

Still, I may be missing...

               The universe

                     And it's answers

But, my doubt is...

               Hung jury pants

                      philosophies contempt

Forever sinking in...

               Settles victories on Darwin's theory

                                Evolutionary Illustrated man

I never thought of it quite like this...maybe there are stories I have yet to learn...

But perphaps you meant it in a more negative way.

I've found that I can learn something from everyone no matter how much I disagree with their choices.. read more
I think this is how our parents and their contemporaries looked upon our generation, long hair, choice in music, etc...it's always going to be that way. Enjoyed this one M.G.

Follies of youth blinds us to the truth of God his temples; our bodies. Thanks.
