Eating Crow

Eating Crow

A Poem by Michael G. Smith
"

Saying "I wrong"

"

Eating crow ain't so bad

A little bit of salt

Trim away some fat

Humble pie for dessert

A change of diet or turn of heart

It ain't easy eating words

I guess it's better...

Than living alone on bread and water

Arrogance can't live forever

Especially, when life's too short tasting sweet

Eating crow ain't quite so bad

If you swallow pride hard it might just taste like beef

Yep - better than dining alone, and humble pie can be sweet. Great analogy, M. G.

Thanks and keep churning out your own wisdoms.
Loved this one. It is so true...sometimes we have to admit we were wrong and move forward. Well written. Lydi**

Smiling here....but it really does take 2!
I like it! I shall use the phrase 'eating crow' next time I have to take back words said in haste or anger! Good poem.

Thanks. Appreciate your comments.
I have to say I much rather watch crow fly or listen to their cackle for "eating crow" is so bitter in flavor!LOL
