Letting Go

Letting Go

A Poem by Michael G. Smith
"

Lettting go of bad memeories

"

Another year nebs by zero
As empty gardens gate outflux
By delusions picket, white and wooden
Lined long the sidewalk memories of...

Bits of heart lie strewn like weeds around the grass
Cross the seasons, forever weather changing
A tear, a leaf ...a flake float or fall beyond my grasp

Like you, the sapor in my life becoming ever bitter tasting

Yet, deep within me somewhere still
You so much, siphon off my struggling energies
Where I waste and wither in each of says waking ill

Teetering upon an edge, thus more or less living off of fantasies

And these dreams are always pouring rain, dews upon a nighttime pillow
From where I stand wishes fade within the day, and I wait
Onto worn down tiles, the only intimacy below my peering window
And in my mind outside, "Dead End" reads the roadway sign, just beyond the rust that eats away that gate

The rust of the hinges?

Thanks Sami , I followed your bread crumb trails of comments and found M.G. Smith too.
Nice write... I once related to some of your expressions and think you did a swell job expressing those thoughts M.G. Smith; however In the first stanza you wrote:By delusions picket, white and wooden
Lined long the sidewalk memories of...
In the last stanza you wrote:And in my mind outside, "Dead End" reads the roadway sign, just beyond the rust that eats away that gate.

Which leaves my mind pondering how a rusted road sign can eat away a white picket wooden fence? I understand it means the heart and thought of love that once was is being ate away but it'd hard for me to see it as a simile and caused me to reread it three times to possibly catch something I thought I missed and I wondered if I understood the whole poem. Finally after 4 times I spotted this and saw why I had to re read it. LOL sometimes my brain shrinks and I'm a bit slower at understanding. But very beautiful and so I will ck out some more of your writings.

Are these people on this site are blind to the beauty and elegance in your poems?... Lovely , just lovely...:)
