Smiles Across Your Face

Smiles Across Your Face

A Poem by Michael G. Smith
"

My wife's sunrise smile

"

Droplets dew settle sweet
Upon a flower
 gentle sway

Cricket's empathy to the nightress sings

Symphonies which chorus soon negates

Darkness surrenders into full retreat
Withdraws shadow from woodland's bush
and glade
To a new found dawn; rhapsody with fresh wet paints
Lending more to 'tis morning's coming grace

Sky red; a mistress blush
A rising star blowing warm kisses feint
Beams and winks and such
Sets felicity up, atop this unveiling stage

But yet, a greater anticipation awaits
Than the dawn out yonder which heaven breaks
As the sunrise pales in comparison to the brighter
Summer smile now waking rapture across your face

So sweet and beautiful! What an incredible ode to something that is so beautiful and important. There is nothing like the light of love...shining, warming, brightening even the darkest of hours and days. Hang on to this feeling, it's a keeper. :)
