Shall We Not?

Shall We Not?

A Poem by Misty Blue Eyes

Shall we not suffer?
Enduring the pains of reality
the sun shines as i can not reach it
the moon glows as it does not shine
Waves of freedom splash into the uprooted earth
pulling it back down into a hell of twisting and turning
pain inflicted one many with no release
Monitors keeps those alive,
the ones with no will to live
hearts and bodies set free
shall we not cry when one is released from our grips?
No longer able to hold them, talk to them, smile?
Days go empty with crying and wanting of the ones we love.
Dying is so natural but yet shall we not try to stop it?
keep the ones we love with us for ever.
make them suffer so we can go visit them each and every day,
Shall we not care if they are half alive or already on the other side?
shall we not think?
how they see things?
Shall we not mourn them as they walk the path?
the white light at the end?
Shall we not set a candle for those we love and lost?

When you truly love someone, and their time on Earth is waning, you let them go because you love them, and you know it would be selfish to keep them alive on
machines past their time. It is pure selfishness to force someone to suffer so you don't have to miss them. Our lives are just a moment in the course of time, but a moment and you will be with your loved one again.

I don't want anyone to suffer, but I want to hold on as long as I can to my loved ones. This is a very heart felt written poem that touching to the soul!

Losing a love one hurts, it's very painful! alot of us try to hang on to our love ones, not wanting them to slip away, not realizing there ready to head toward that light! Great poem

I read this as losing one that MAY AS WELL be dead. I have suffered both forms of loss and the death seems more of a release. This spoke to me on an emotional level...and now you owe me a tissue and a shoulder to cry on...brute.

Excellent write, the idea of walking the long path and holding a vigil as we think is that enough?

Very nice work
