I am one

I am one

A Poem by Misty Blue Eyes

He has come for me today
It is my time to say good bye,
But not for long you see.
It is never for very long that we say goodbye.

He stands by me as i take my last breath as we know it
My smile always with you, my heart beats slow
My fluttering eyes no longer open

He takes my hand now,
Guiding me to a new place
it's a place i have never seen before, high above the living
i am as one should be

In the after life i am told,
There are no rules but 1.
watch over the ones that you love
Make their life happy with thoughts of you

God has taken me now.
It is my sworn duty to follow him,
As he will now show me the light in the distance.
i am free now, my spirit to go where ever it feels.

i am here with you as the days go on
Minds are filled with memories of me.

god... he has come for me. holding your hand
i must leave now. don't let the flood gates come yet
as only happy thoughts of me are filled in your head.

With a slap I came into the world crying, and everyone was laughing. I left this world laughing in light, and everyone was crying! For that, which we must contend... in the passing blend, of this tapastry for the living.

I think what you have written here is a healthy way of expressing the passing of a much loved family member, as this momemt must come to us all. To share that time of grieving, to miss all the moments that they were a part of our everday. Yet, " i am here with you as the days go on --- Minds are filled with memories of me.", knowing this is where the eternal lives with grace, "god... he has come for me."

My condolences to your family Misty... and thank you, for sharing this beautiful poem and a wonderful way of its view, to the eternal...
Peace & Love. Ro

this is very beautiful...the death of a loved one can sometimes be unbearable. you have a very tender and heartfelt assurance that your grandfather will always be with you watching over you. it's beautiful....your grandfathers thoughts living with you beyond eternity!

Wow! I mlike the way this work acknowledges god, yet doesn't fall into the usual cliches of the afterlife. I love the idea of keeping your memory alive in someones heart after your earthly time is spent.

Love, this is so emotive, I know sorry never helps, but I am sorry. I truly understand the pain of loss! I can empathise with you - this is perfectly crafted from the heart xx

A powerful and sad poem. No words can relieve the pain of losing a family member. I'm sorry for your lost. The poem told a story of a new journey and I like the last lines.
"god... he has come for me. holding your hand
i must leave now. don't let the flood gates come yet
as only happy thoughts of me are filled in your head."
A excellent poem.
