Holiday's

Holiday's

A Poem by Misty Blue Eyes

Holiday music played

In an old house

on a record player

Smells from the kitchen hitch a ride

traveling into other rooms

sweet smells of chocolate

strong smells of ginger

Clouds fall over

snow falls slowly

sliding down the heated windows

The little girl smiles

A women with short grey hair turns the spatchula

The dough for the next bach of cookies

Smiles in the kitchen travel through the rooms

spreading cheer and giddy to others

a man smokes his pipe as he reads

a little boy plays with the train and his tracks

Snow piles up as the cookies rise

placed on plates for eating

The little girl shivers as she looks out at the snow

feeling the cold and smiles at her grandmother

stealing a fresh baked cookie
