On Their Way

Tangled and twisted metal!

Steam rose from the broken engine

Blood covered bodies

Lights blinking

rain pouring down

Sirens heard from miles away

The occupants trying to thrive on little breathing

Seat belts untouched 

beer bottles 

lids on the floor

a girl 

a guy

on the ground 

Death is near!

On their way to a wedding

Theirs!!

So, I like this. You paint a good picture. I am transported to the terrible scene. However, I felt the ending was a little weak. I don't know exactly what it was, but I felt a let down. Just a thought, and only mine. You have a really nice poetic voice. I just felt it falter at the end of this piece. Thank you for sharing it! All the best.

Well there's that dark irony and i don't know why i sense black humor. Maybe its the beer bottles. That's sheer recklessness on a wedding day. But i love the irony of the situation here. And its a suspense thriller with a last line giveaway. Well described poem. Important message for us youngies..
