more then just a poem

It was my fault

I did it to you

how do i take it back?

Back to the day we were happy

Happiness hasn't been seen around for awhile

A while ago you and i had something

Something that i would do anything to get back

Your love.

You trusted me with it, to hold it and cherish it

I only looked

Looking wasn't suppose to turn into something more.

I can't say I'm sorry

Not that i don't want to but i can't

How do i find the words

Words to heal the broken of hearts 

Not shattered but burned up by the fire you had for me?

How do I live? knowing what i did

I vowed years ago never to be like this

The sleepless nights we have, the bad dreams you get,

Running after you haunting you down the street

I want to hurt

Hurt like you do

Make me

Make me feel the hate and anger you feel 

Feel for me every day

I want to be torn limb by limb 

cut into with that bloody knife

hang me up and let me bleed out

dying inside like you did

I just want to say i am sorry

But it wont help 

I feel so numb half the time

Don't know what to say to you

I walk around half dead in side

Crumbling centimeter by centimeter

The times over the past year standing on the corner

Wanting to walk into the road hoping to get hit

Maybe you would tell me on my dying bed

How much you love me

Because i cant love me

Tell you day after day to leave me be

I know i dont deserve you...

Helplessness, Late self realization and the intense frustration associated thereof. Clear in its message, Gory and Dark in its language at place, it is a beautifully poised poem and serves perfectly what it sets out to do. Could be a great personal poem for some. i can seriously feel the intense love and devotion to your loved one in this poem, its beautiful. as much as we feel half dead in our darkest of moments, the fact that we feel that way just shows how truly alive we are. those who are able to shrug it off and not care about others are the ones that are dead inside. this is incredible. love it!

just when i thought i was done crying...you strike up an emotion here that most humans feel but are never able to express. it's a shame words can't heal but some scars are just too deep. the second to last stanza i've planted in the bed of ash my heart has become.
