My Reflection no more

My Reflection no more

A Poem by Misty Blue Eyes

MY REFLECTION!
disappearing as I stand there
The mirror never moves
Slowly slipping
I am fading away
In a life lived
no longer needed
Wanted less and less
My values no longer yearned for
I am slipping away
like a ghost in a movie
slowly being spread apart by the wind
NOT YET! i cry out
i am not done here
Holding my hand out, reaching
never touching......
MY REFLECTION.....GONE

How often do we feel invisible? You just want to give people a shake...but they have no idea you are there...That's what it must be like at that first moment of death....you can see them...they can't see you....how sorrowful that must be...that's how this makes me feel...full of sorrow and sadness...watching your reflection fade away...watching your life fade away...you try to hang on...kicknig and screaming...but no one notices...then you are gone...This is great! Thank you...

heart-rending lines...

this is very powerful and very true. but one thing i have found is that we will only dissapear if we let people tell us who to be. then we are letting them erase who we are.
thats what this poem made me think of.
thanks for posting this, i like this one. very strange, very good!

Mmm, now this moves its way toward prose flow. Experimentation with text, punctuation and presentation of structure. Prose poetry, as it does still maintain iteself in a one poised stanza... this says a thing to me, that well.
I won't put here and post later, an yes Misty... all good!!!
As your content is and stays connected.

Awesome job

A very powerful poem. To become invisible is scary. I was worry for my wife. Kids were gone and she was stuck with me. The grand children came and her life is full again. Life is very fair. I was took care of by two strong Grandparent. Their reflection got stronger because we gave them purpose. Sometime we must look hard in the mirror and find the strong person who ain't afraid of life. I like this poem. You made me think again.
