Among The Rubble She Stands

The darkness comes alive

Under the moon's light

Shadows walk the rubble

Broken lives and mending hearts of war

She looks out over the grounds

smiles and whispers "it's going to be ok"

to those shadows, lost and forgotten 

Perched along the ledge

The dark angel smiles

Her little minions reaping the world that was once theirs 

taking souls not quite theirs yet

Sitting in the dark covered rubble

She sits cold and lonely 

hiding from the unknown and the ghosts

Small, fragile, and loving 

Stepping out into the darkness 

Her red gown glows in the night light of the moon

The dark angel calls her minions back, watching 

This little girl so small and pure 

she cannot be touched....

For the black angel stands and cries out into the night air........

I like this story. A dark angel and her minions waiting and hunting. A dark tale with a very good ending. Even a Dark Angel can't get all she wants. A excellent poem.
