Roadways of our lives

Side streets to main streets

Stop lights in the roads

Main roads to bridges 

Bridges to high ways

Highways to off ramps

Left turn right turn or straight ahead!

Only we know where we are going 

In life so many roads to take, 

Picking one leads to another 

Which way will you choose? 

I choose to travel the curved, bumpy road 

For the soft paved road shall be too easy

Something so smooth and dark, hides the surprises 

The sun will guide you through the obstacle 

Those cones that stand in your way, 

To knock them over is to stand bold in life

Dotted lines help us stay on the road 

Only letting us pass and go around a different way

The double yellow telling us its not meant to be gone this way

The roads of life are confusing but with each tire mark we make

Life can be simple and easy or we can make darts in and out of the cones, 

Set up in our way making our own path

I simply love this piece!! Life as a road...but i wish, the signes for obstacles in life to be little more visible and clear as these on the road! :)

Love your poem,
Am reminded of the many paths and bi-paths
in our lives. Taking the wrong path can get
our face slapped , or a passport to nirvana.
Picking a peach because it looks delicious can
result in problems with both you and the peach
if you eat too much. Always follow a little discretion.
There is no handbook for all the desirable destinations,

We just have to feel our way and consider the consequences
if we should stray.

A lot of good wisdom in your poem. Life can test us. We need to keep going forward and never in to disappointment. We never know what may be waiting for us on the next turn of life and journey. I like the ending to the excellent poem.

Very good. I like the use of literally "roads" to describe lifes journeys.

The imagery in this poem was outstanding! My only suggesting to make this poem go from good to great would be to work a bit on the language, include more rhyme and alliteration to make the words flow a bit more smoothly. great work though!

I always take the hard road...but not on purpose sometimes. A life hard fought is one well earned and no better victory is met without bruises and bloody scars.
