Quiet Mornings

Quiet Mornings

A Poem by Misty Blue Eyes

No birds sing Yet
Still nestled in their warm bed
Darkness fills the air
It's a quiet morning

"Click" of the thermostat as the heater comes on
Warm air fills the tiny place
Coffee brews in the other room
It's a quiet morning

Lights turn on making the darkness go away
The sun is still asleep for me this morning
The cars go by as the people are off to work!
It's a quiet morning

The children are still sound asleep
Dreaming of candy and fun with uncles
For this morning is mine and its a very quiet morning

as already noted, you see something special in all the little things of everyday life... also, I am starting to think that poetry on the subject "morning" is your forteh. I could actually see, hear, smell, taste and feel everything you wrote about... and I especially liked the lines "Still nestled in their warm bed" and ""Click" of the thermostat as the heater comes on"... this is not just poetry, this is magic! :)

The detalis in the small things are really what make this poem, and the imagery is amazing, it really helps paint a picture.
