A intensifying trance like stare
Takes over his sight
When the sun turns black
Day feeds off the night
Deaths calls his soul
A heart beat he no longer feels
Awake in the darkness
Reborn as Vincent Steele
A creature with no reflection
Drinking from a vein
Lurking in the nightmares
Living off fright and pain
Doesn't live in a coffin
Hides from the sunlight in a cave
Under ground hidden from the world
Just like being in a grave
In disguise with a cloak and hat
With a past a cloud of mystery
Searching through the archives
Finding no kind of history
Skin cold like his eyes
His voice tragic and deep
He quickly leans over his victim
Puts you forever to sleep
Soon to be immortal
You will never again be real
Walking in the shadows
Becoming another Vincent Steele!

really like the metaphor here likening his heart to Dracula's...
in the darkness he lives...afraid the light will hurt him once again...
and then he lives forever with the pain.

Dark and atmospheric, I can feel the influence of Poe here. I wouldn't want to come across Vincent Steel on a dark night. I enjoyed the read. Very Halloweeny. Thanks for sharing.
