JOHNNY HILL

JOHNNY HILL

A Poem by Sean M. Addams
"

This is written for my birth father who passed away last Sunday

"
My emotions are confused as I keep asking why. Never a chance to see your face and give my final goodbye.
I wish I had one more day (if it were my choice), but God called you home, you heard his heavenly voice.
I know you're probably metal detecting through the streets paved in gold. I need comfort down here, up there you've got a million angels to hold.
I know you're telling stories because I hear them through the clouds. Here on earth I look up feeling so proud.
I should be rejoicing today, but my heart still feels real sad. I appreciate being adopted, but I wish I had more time to call you dad.
Calling out my prayers to God, please Lord, what's your Will? When I look up towards the clouds all I see is the name written--Johnny Hill.
