Love Goes Like the Wind Blows

Love Goes Like the Wind Blows

A Poem by Ariel
"

A poem about love lost.

"
Love goes like the wind blows
On these blisteringly cold
Starry winter nights
Far beyond the busy city.

I envy you and your lively grace
Your lovely eyes and smile.
You are lost as always
To me and my brooding charms.

I had you so long ago,
For only a quiet moment.
Then you flung yourself,
As always, into another's
Warm, anonymous arms.

I despise you and your lovers
And hope you become a bitter
Old hag someday, sometimes.
When I can't stand the pain any longer.

I lost you many a year gone,
When the breeze was familiar,
And love wasn't just a dream.
I had you, but never more.

I know now, it's tatooed to my heart,
Surrounded by barbed wire and
Frozen, unmoving stone walls,
I know I'll never find love again.

At least not with you.

Love goes like the wind blows....
