Realizing A Dream

Realizing A Dream

A Poem by Sean Augulewicz

Tell me your dreams
And I will take you there
I would show you everything
You ever wanted to see
But over time you will realize
Your dreams are not as great,
Not as fulfilling as you had hoped
Then I will show you
Your deepest desire
And bring you back to reality
To feed the flame
To push you further
To greater the passion
Lessen the distraction
To help you get
Not only what you want
But what you need
To be you,
More than you have ever been
To be the best you
That you have ever known
To be everything you
Have ever wanted to be
To be...

This poem reminds me that most of us can make our dreams come true, but through the fire of life, lose sight of what our dreams really are. For example, I had a friend who dreamed of owning a bar and grill. But since he mostly sat in one and drank, his dream assumed his life.
...Then I will show you your deepest desire, and bring you back to reality,
to feed the flame, to push you further....
This poem is well written, and holds the truth about our elusive dreams
Well done.
