A Sepia-Toned Solitude

A Sepia-Toned Solitude

A Poem by Sean Augulewicz

There is a sepia-toned solitude
A sort of silence
So beautiful and relaxing
That it only lasts for a minute or two
Until it shatters into millions of tiny pieces
That can't be reassembled
No matter how hard you try
Moments such as this are so rare,
So greatly taken advantage of
That when someone experiences this miracle
They make one of two choices:
To simply throw it to the wind
And go on with their lives
Or they savor this moment,
They realize the miracle that is
A sepia-toned solitude
