Decadence

Decadence

A Poem by Geist

Evil land of pestilence that a dark king chose

Causing death and destruction there was the River of Souls

A river of unspeakable torment and unforgiving sin

The blood of many damned things lied hidden within

Providing the needed fuel for the knights of despair

Wreaking havoc and deception, their justice declared

All hope was lost as the gray sky had turned black

But one man dared to stand tall, to lead an attack

This man was more pure than any others who had come before

To rid the land of this so-called "Dark King" is what he had swore

To the River of Souls he marched willingly into the fight

Knowing that he may never come back, he trudged on into the night

As he reached this unholy place he prepared for battles with beasts

Creatures defyling all laws of nature, creatures with horrid deceit

The war had begun as he drew his sword from his side

The powers of good and unprecendented evil would now colide

For a short time it seemed the hero would conquer all odds

But in the end it was apparent this hero was not of gods

Weakened and beaten the Golden One could take absolutely no more

It was not to be the day that good would settle the score

The river consumed him with all the hate that it could find

And the hero had fallen once and for all in this story of a forgotton time
